Frequency Specific Microcurrent (FSM) Therapy

What is Frequency Specific Microcurrent (FSM) Therapy ?

Frequency Specific Microcurrent is a safe, fast, non-invasive, cost effective, pain-free way to treat pain.
The therapy was developed to help patients recover from chronic pain conditions, sports injuries and other health ailments.

It was first introduced into Ireland in 2005. Microcurrent is measured in millionths of an amp, your bodies own cells make current in micro amps, this is why you do not feel anything during the treatments. It is sub-sensory to the nervous system.

Conditions Treatable with Microcurrent.

Microcurrent can treat a wide range of injuries, conditions and diseases. The following are a list of the most common complaints treated by microcurrent
  • Sprains, strains, Frozen Shoulder, Carpet tunnel syndrome, Tendonitis, Bursitis
  • Fractures, Stress Fractures, Tennis Elbow, Scar Tissue, Fibrosis - Ligament injuries
  • Post Surgical Pain, Spinal Disc Pain, Sciatica, Whiplash, Migraine, Tension headaches, Neck Pain, Back Pain, Asthma
  • Eczema, Psoriasis, Acne, Rosacea, Anti-ageing, Burns, Lipomas, Ganglion cysts
  • Fibromyalgia, Chronic fatigue (ME), Arthritis, Gout, Bell's palsy, Shingles, Herpes
  • Irritable bowel syndrome,Diverticulitis, Chron's disease, Constipation, Gerd, Nicotine cravings, Depression
  • Kidney stone pain, Cystitis, Endometriosis, Lymphhedema, Stress incontinence
Many other chronic conditions can be treated with Microcurrent. Please ask Veronica for advice on your condition

Why choose Microcurrent over other therapies ?

Microcurrent is a low risk and incredibly effective therapy. This pain free therapy promoted healing in conditions that have often not responded to other therapies. Some patients see significant benefits immediately after or within 24hrs following a single session. These benefits can be permanent or can last for several days to a week.

The duration of benefit lasts much longer with each subsequent treatment. However every patient responds individually but the changes to the tissues seems to be long lasting. 60% - 80% of the changes created in one treatment will last until the next treatment, usually in four to seven days.Your muscles are used to responding the way they are and may return to the old configuration if not treated again. Some patients have permanent changes in one treatment.

How does it work?

Studies have shown that Microcurrent increases the production of ATP, your own chemical energy by up to 500%. In doing so this dramatically increases the tissue to heal.
Microcurrent has also been shown to reduce inflammation and swelling by 62% in four minutes, increase protein synthesis by 70% and boost the immune system all of which accelerates healing. Microcurrent heals new injuries in record time.

What are the side effects?

No significant or lasting adverse reactions to FSM have ever been reported; it has a history of being very safe. Some people may experience a reaction similar to massage for a few minutes after the treatment, where they feel temporary light headedness or mild drowsiness, but disappears quickly after a few minutes.

Is there anyone F.S.M. does not work on ?

Patients must be well hydrated in order for FSM to work. Every patient is advised to drink at least one litre of water in the hour prior to the treatment, and a litre afterwards. Patients who are chronically dehydrated may need more.

Precautions

Patients that have a demand type pacemaker are contraindicated to having FSM treatment and manufacturer support should be sought to clarify if 100micro amps and 3hz to 970hz is ok to use.
It is ok to use above the clavicle and below the waist. Care should be taken with pregnant patients as FSM has not been shown to create problems but risk is unknown.
